Construction Projects     Cemetery Construction Cemetery Construction provides some very unique challenges. Some of those challenges include design build mausoleum construction, mausoleum renovations, protection of historic gravesites, and specialized scheduling to keep construction on track. Focus Projects: Chestnut Grove Cemetery The Chestnut Grove Cemetery is owned and operated by the Town of Herndon. This new construction project has trasformed the previous facility into a new high service cementery providing clients with onsite sales and services. MCSI constructed a new Administration Building and Maintenance Building to provide clients with a higher level of service. In addition MCSI constructed addtional features tot the existing cemetery, such as a new design build masoleum, renovation of an existing, new columbarium, landscaping, cemetery signs, sitework and new road systems. Chestnut Grove has served Herndon and the surrounding area for over 125 years. During its long history Chestunut Grove has become a treasured cultural and heritage resource for the Herndon Community. From 1872, until September 1997 Chestnut Grove was managed by volunteers. Through their dedication and effort, the unique character fot he cemetery flourished. On September 29, 1997 the Town of Hendon assumed management of Chestnut Grove Cemetery. The Town has, with the advice and help of former Association Board members, undertaken numerous improvements to ensure the beauty and character of Chestnut Grove will be preserved for future generations. The Town established a formal master plan for the development and landscaping of the cemetery to ensure it reflects the standards and beliefs of Herndon and surrounding communities that utilize Chestnut Grove.
