Air National Guard New Fire Station
Milestone Team Breaks Ground
on New Fire Station For MD Air National Guard Martin State Airport,
Baltimore, MD (Dec 04, 09)

|
Milestone Construction Services, Inc. (MCSI) along with Congressman
C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger and Maryland military leaders broke ground on
a new fire station at the Warfield Air National Guard Base at Martin
State Airport on December 2, 2009. MCSI is a professional General
Contracting, Construction Management and Consulting firm specializing
in the Base Building, Retail and Commercial Interior fields of
Construction.

The existing Fire Station, which
is over 40 years old, is severely
outdated with cracked walls, roof leaks, and inadequate room to house
the fire trucks. The new facility will house top-notch training,
office, and storage facilities so guardsmen can prepare for future
missions. “Finally, the guardsmen are getting a state-of-the-art
facility so they can prepare for future missions,” Congressman
Ruppersberger said. “They deserve better than what they
have.” The 21,100 square foot facility will house a regular
24/7 operations group, who provide emergency services to the airport,
base and surrounding community.
This will be MCSI’s sixth fire station that has been built in the last
five years. MCSI was founded in the late 90’s and is registered
in Virginia, Maryland, DC, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. MCSI is a
proud member of the U.S. Green Building Council and has LEED accredited
professionals on staff.
The
Airmen stationed at Warfield Air National Guard Base respond to
natural disasters as well as man-made emergencies. They serve in
Maryland as well as across the country. Their planes were the
first aircraft flying after 9-11 and in the wake of Hurricane
Katrina. The Airmen from the 175th Wing also serve in Iraq and
Afghanistan.
MCSI was awarded the project for “Best Value” which is a mixture of
price and the firm’s superior qualifications.
